An afternoon at Bluebells
August 9th, 2012 § 0The weather today has been amazing and I made the right decision to head to Bluebells to meet a friend. With the sun comes ice cream and at Bluebells they have amazing ice cream all made on the farm. I’m sure many of you reading this have tried Bluebells ice cream, whether it was on the farm or at a Fabulous Places event. I’m not sure what my preferred flavour is…chocolate is amazing, strawberry is delicious, but then the lemon meringue hits the spot, but then I tried mint choc chip, hmmm.
Bluebells isn’t just about ice cream, it’s a working farm and the Brown Family are passionate about making their home a place for families to visit and enjoy. There’s a farm shop, cafe, outdoor play area and an area where you can feed the animals…pigs, goats, sheep, chickens, rabbits, the list goes on. It’s a great way to introduce little ones to a farm environment.
The weather looks great for tomorrow…get yourself to Bluebells!

A trip to Belper
August 5th, 2012 § 0On Friday I met a friend for a walk to the River Gardens in Belper with our little ones. On the way we took a back route down some gorgeous cobbled roads, including Long Row, in the sunshine to the park. This was my first visit to the River Gardens (yes, I know, long overdue!) and I loved it, what a treasure! I loved how many families were there enjoying the park and gardens, there was even a toddler activity class taking place on the grass…it was the place to be for mums!
Below are a few photos I took along the way.

We then went for a bite to eat at Nourish at 44 on King Street. New to Belper, Nourish is beautifully presented and has a delicious fresh menu. I’ll definitely be back to Belper soon!

Out & about this week…
August 2nd, 2012 § 0I’ve been out and about recently and thought I would share some of the images I snapped along the way. I think this may make a new regular series of blogs!

My week started with my friend around Shipley Country Park. The Ramblers Cafe is a place I’ve not been in before, I was delighted to find these gorgeous scones fresh from the oven! Delicious with a cup of tea! I think I’ll be heading back for another on my next dog walk.

I was at the Alphabet Gift Shop in Mickleover on Tuesday morning for a meeting and spotted their brilliant Olympic themed window display! Even the cuddle toys had medals!

Here’s a photo taken inside the Alphabet Interiors Shop…I especially like the bedroom display.

Tuesday afternoon, on the way to collect my little lady from the child minder, hubby and I nipped into The Bottlekiln…it’s on the way, kind of! We shared this monster piece of lemon meringue cake. Delicious.

This week Lily’s 1st Birthday invites arrived from Lucy Sheeran. With less than a month to do, I am starting to visit lots of fabulous places to find party accessories!

A purchase this week was a pair of baby Converse for Lily…I couldn’t resist!

Last week the lovely Becky from Butterworth Photography took some gorgeous photos of my little Lily…here’s one with her cuddly monkey.
