hidden gems

December 8th, 2009 § 0

My reason for launching fabulousplaces.co.uk back in July 2008 was down to not being able to find the types of shops and eateries I like on the internet.  Weekends in our household are devoted to the great outdoors and our two dogs, so trips into Derbyshire for walkies and then a stroll around some independent shops and a frothy coffee and homemade cake sat outside a cafe would be a day well done for us.  The internet is vast, but when you’re looking for a small independent gift shop, unless you know the name and the exact location, you’ll struggle to find information on the internet.  If you do, then it will just be a text based listing and what use is that!?  My main idea behind fabulousplaces.co.uk was to give you everything you need to know to decide if you want to visit.

The reason for this post is to encourage you to take a look through the places and producers on this website and consider shopping at independent places when looking for Christmas gifts this year…I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised  )

Don’t forget that the fabulousplaces.co.uk Derbyshire Card has now been launched and there are lots of fabulous promotions and discounts at many places and producers featured on the website.  Click here to find out more.

If you’ve found some great Derbyshire goodies at independent places around Derbyshire please leave a comment and let us know all about them!
