fabulous places to go event 2009

What can I say! The evening was a huge success and I’m now enjoying some much needed rest. Well, I’m sat on the sofa with a cup of tea and biscuits with the laptop typing this blog, that will do for now!

Thanks so much to everyone who came along to the Showcase – guests travelled from all over Derbyshire, Sheffield and Nottingham! I hope you had a fabulous time and enjoyed the opportunity to browse so many fabulous products in one place. I hope you all liked your goody bags too! You’ll find some really great goodies in there… a Teapigs sample, Weleda products, a packet of Crips, a Dorset Cereals bar and flyers/offers from some of the fabulous places featured on the website.

Below are a selection of photographs taken at the event. To view a larger image, please click on one of the thumbnails:

  • What an amazing, inspirational event in truly stunning surroundings. I was priviledged to be one of the exhibitors at the showcase and can ‘hand on heart’ state that I felt proud to be a ‘small business’ on that day. We may have been many individual companies, but under the umberella of ‘FP’ we represent one striking unity of the ‘way forward’ in modern retailling. We have that PERSONAL, GENUINE, WELCOMING, UNIQUE, approach which is almost impossible to find amongst the larger commercial outfits, and I for one am not sorry that as one voice we are shouting from the rooftops that pride in our regional produce and LOCAL APPROACH is making the supermarkets sit up and take notice. Here’s to you DEB, and long may it continue! xx

On behalf of the Derbyshire Community Foundation i would like to say a huge thank to Debs for inviting us to the fabulous event and for donating proceeds from the raffle to our charity, and of course thank you to all of the guests who bought tickets!

As a local charity supporting local people, we are delighted to be associated with fabulous places and so many amazing local businesses and hope that we can work with you again soon!

Well done Debs for all your hard work!

  • Wish I’d got in before Ali above because she’s said it all.

Thanks again Deb for all your hard work. We’re looking forward to the next event wherever it is. I only wish we’d had time to wander round and speak with the other businesses.

And if you’re reading this and didn’t attend, do make sure you come along next time. It was literally fabulous.

  • Thank you Debs and Lucy for a lovely evening, the setting was fabulous and what a fantastic showcase for all small businesses! I am sure those like myself who are on the web site but didn’t showcase on the night have been inspired to do so in the future!!
