Monsal Head in Derbyshire

I had planned to blog much more often that this, but that’s me…ever the optimist! I have been so busy, but it’s all good…whether I’ve been out and about searching for more places, working (yep, I work as a full time PA too, so time’s limited!), finding new competition prizes for FP Club Members or thinking up new ideas for the site, there’s always something to keep me busy. I’ve also been away on holiday recently, but I’m back and working on exciting development for the website.

I’m having so much fun with the site and the feedback I’ve received has been amazing. My partner, David, showed me the stats for September and I couldn’t quite believe it…apparently, the average time spent on a website is a maximum of 1 minute and the average time for my site was 13 minutes…how fantastic!

You’ll be delighted to hear that I have found more, yes more, fabulous places to feature on the site. They are:

Fabulous places to visit in Derbyshire

There’s a place in Derbyshire that brings back to many happy childhood memories for me…Monsal Head. As a child I would go there for walks with my parents, so many happy memories. We stayed at Shottle Hall around a month ago and after we checked out we set off to Hathersage and our sat nav took us past Monsal Head. We decided to stop off and take some photos and to my surprise there I found Hobbs Cafe & Craft Centre. Hobbs sums up what this site is about..only on rare occasions do I pass Monsal Head and I’ve not seen any advertising for it and it’s hidden away. If the sat nav had not taken us that particular route, I wouldn’t have found it.

Next, we arrive in Hope. I was in search of eco eco Home Shop and when I found it I was incredibly pleased we have taken the journey. There are actually two eco eco shops; one is a home store selling environmentally considerate home and beauty products and the shop specialises in ethically produced clothing and accessories. I have to say, it was incredibly inspiring to visit eco eco. There are so many products there offering you a great choice of products and accessories that are friendly to the planet. If you’re struggling for ways to help make a difference, I recommend a visit to eco eco and the owner, Alison, is very helpful and on hand to offer advice.

A couple of minutes down the road is the Riverside Herb Centre, Shop & Chop’t. It was recommended to me by an FP Club Member…what a great recommendations! There’s a great shop and deli and a fabulous coffee shop where you can enjoy great coffee, homemade cakes and light lunches whilst watching birds feed on the famous bird table outside.

I’ve been on a much needed holiday and feeling refreshed and ready for the new season, when the weather offers us the opportunity to enjoy crisp autumn walks around Derbyshire and, of course, with that comes the customary coffee shop visit for hot chocolate. The shops are also beginning to bring out there seasonal stock, which is music to my ears…I’m gearing up for my annual mid November trip into Derbyshire to look for new Christmas decorations (yes, I said it…Christmas, sorry!).

Lastly, I’m really pleased to be offering an amazing competition throughout October….Shottle Hall are kindly offering two lucky people the opportunity to win a one night stay, including a three course dinner and breakfast fit for a king! I’ve had the absolute pleasure of spending a night at Shottle Hall and it is truly wonderful, a hidden treasure offering a place to escape for an overnight stay or just a few hours to enjoy a wonder meal. I recommend the chocolate bread & butter pudding….wow!

Before you leave the website today, don’t forget to leave a review for a fabulous place you’ve visited…not only will you be letting the owner know that you think they’re fabulous too, you’ll also be automatically entered into this month’s competition! Good luck!
